大連市金州高級中學始建于1946年春季，是由金州區政府創辦的第一所獨立高中。校址在原金縣孔廟，校名為“金縣縣立中學”。1949年5月學校搬遷金州區北山路1592号（原地主張本發大院），2004年10月7日遷入新址，即大連市金州區擁政街道新建村78号。
