在中考的習題中，我們同學經常會遇到一類考題，那就是名詞做定語時，是用單數還是用複數的問題。

比如一名運動員，同學們往往記不清應該用單數的sport還是複數的sports，針對這類問題，老師今天總結如下，同學們隻需要定時複習就好。

提示：下列詞彙覆蓋中考"名詞修飾名詞用單數還是複數"這個考點95%以上的常考詞彙，因此重要性不用我多說。

來吧，看總結：

1. Which is the way to the __________?

A. shoe factory

B. shoes factory

C. shoe's factory

D. shoes' factory

答案：鞋店用單數，選A。同學們可以記憶成：鞋雖然是兩隻，但是做的時候，是一隻一隻做出來的，因此制作鞋的工廠，不強調成雙成對，而是強調制造出shoe這個東西，因此用單數。

2. There are twenty_____in our school.Some of them.are_____.

A.woman teachers,Germans

B.women teachers,Germans

C.women teachers,Germen

答案：典型的男人女人修飾名詞，我們選擇B。最後一個空的規則是：中日不變英法變，其他s加後面。

3. This shop sells apples, bananas and things like these. It's a_____.

A. fruits shop

B. vegetables shop

C. fruit shop

答案：C，水果店，不是蔬菜店。我們強調一個店是賣水果的，而不是賣蔬菜的，這個意思是在側重買的東西的核心區别。水果與蔬菜、酒肉、礦泉水、零食等的區别。這裡隻強調物品大類的區别，而不強調"多種多樣的水果"。因此，我們強調與蔬菜等對應的水果，我們用fruit即可。

答案：A，女性雜志，女人需要用複數，且約定俗成用所有格。至于為什麼約定俗成用所有格，請看下面英文解釋。

從英文用法解釋中，我們能看出以下幾點：

① a boy's sweater 可能是某個男孩的毛衣（強調毛衣的所有人），以及男士毛衣（強調毛衣的款式）。具體是哪一個需要根據上下文來判斷。

② a woman's magazine 如果不是women，那麼含義跟①一樣，不知道究竟是某個女士的雜志，還是這本雜志是女性雜志，導緻意思不清。

③ a women magazine 和a women's magazine意思是很不同的。 a women magazine = a magazine about women，意思就是說這裡的文章故事都是關于女人那點事兒，沒有男人。而a women's magazine = a magazine for women是指這本雜志專門寫給女人看的。裡面可能還是女人的故事居多，但也不排除男人的故事，人與自然的故事，等等其他方面的文章。隻不過a women's magazine更強調這個雜志的寫作對象是女性，主要考慮女性的閱讀喜好。如果大家還不懂，可以想象一下中國的《男人裝》，這就是一本典型給男人看的雜志，說是男人裝，但裡面女人居多，因為這是給男人看的。

答案A。首先根據both可以知道number需要用複數。其次我們考慮room和number的關系。在我們講過的所有複數名詞作定語修飾名詞的知識點裡面，複數名詞一般來說都是很特殊的名詞。而room是非常簡單的，沒有任何複雜性的名詞，甚至比shoe還要簡單，因此room不加s，room number就是房間号碼，變複數隻改number自己就可以。

答案：B。男老師女老師符合"要變全變"的規則。男孩，女孩不符合。因此boy不用變複數。
