provide 用作動詞 意為"提供"，側重表示出于某種責任為應付意外、緊急情況等做好充分準備而提供需要或有用的東西。

1. provide sth. for sb. 意為"為某人提供某物"。

The government provides free text books for the students.

政府為學生們提供免費的教科書。

Would you mind providing some information for us?

2. provide sb. with sth. 和provide sth. for sb. 同義，二者可互換，但要注意二者provide的賓語不同，所用的介詞不同。
