當地時間1月12日，中國與叙利亞正式簽署《關于共同推進絲綢之路經濟帶和21世紀海上絲綢之路建設的諒解備忘錄》，叙利亞正式成為共建“一帶一路”大家庭的新成員。

The ceremony of Syria's admission into the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) took place at the Planning and International Cooperation Commission in the capital Damascus and was attended by Fadi Khalil, the head of the commission, and Feng Biao, China's ambassador to Syria, during which both sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Syria joining the BRI.

中國駐叙利亞大使馮飚與叙利亞計劃與國際合作署署長法迪·哈利勒分别代表兩國政府，12日在大馬士革簽署 “一帶一路”合作諒解備忘錄。

馮飚在簽字儀式上表示，中叙簽署“一帶一路”合作諒解備忘錄，為雙方在新的曆史條件下深化務實合作，實現“一帶一路”倡議與叙總統巴沙爾提出的“東向”戰略對接（the harmonization between the BRI and the eastward strategy proposed by Syria），為中方未來參與叙經濟重建（the economic reconstruction）提供了行動目标、指南和綱領。

Khalil noted that Syria had been one of the main countries on the ancient Silk Road particularly the cities of Aleppo and Palmyra.He pointed out that the signing of Syria's admission into the initiative reflects an ancient and long history of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

哈利勒表示，叙中關系源遠流長，叙利亞的阿勒頗、巴爾米拉曾是古代絲綢之路上的重要城市。

Khalil said the admission of Syria into the initiative will help in boosting bilateral cooperation with China and multilateral cooperation with other countries, which are desirous of cooperating with Syria.

叙利亞加入“一帶一路”倡議将增進叙中兩國在多個領域的友好合作，也将推動叙利亞和周邊國家開展合作。

截至目前，已有近150個國家和32個國際組織加入“一帶一路”倡議。

The initiative has become the widest international cooperation platform in the world.

“一帶一路”也已成為當今世界範圍最廣、規模最大的國際合作平台。
