外國人吃飯多用刀叉，而我們中國人吃飯一般用筷子，多人聚餐時，還常常備有公筷，鐘南山院士更曾呼籲聚餐時盡量用公筷。

1、“公筷”英語怎麼說？

可不是public chopsticks（×）我們所說的“公筷”是提供給吃飯的人方便夾菜用，老外認為幫人夾菜是一種“服務”（當然，給自己夾菜就是為自己服務）所以用 serving [ˈsɜːvɪŋ] 為…服務

“公筷”可以說：serving chopsticks

來看Chinadaily的解釋：

Serving chopsticks are used to move food from a serving dish to one's bowl for hygienic purposes, rather than eating directly from serving dishes. These chopsticks are to be returned to the dishes after one has served him- or herself.

即：為了達到衛生的目的，公筷是用來将食物從餐盤中夾到碗裡，而不是直接夾來吃，食物夾到碗裡後，公筷需放回餐盤。

例：

He suggested that we should use serving chopsticks.

他建議大家用公筷。

2、“一次性筷子”英文怎麼說？

“一次性筷子”可以用disposable chopsticks

disposable[dɪˈspəʊzəbl] 用後即丢棄的; 一次性的

例：

The use of disposable chopsticks has been debated for years.

使用一次性筷子的問題已經争論了很多年。

3、常用的烹饪英語

①cook v.烹饪; 烹調

cook作名詞時還表示“廚師”而cooker的意思是“廚竈，廚具”

例：

He works as a cook in a local restaurant.

他在本地的一家飯店裡當廚師。

②fry 煎，炒

例：

She was frying some mushrooms.

她在炒蘑菇。

③stir-fry （大火）翻炒，快炒

也可作形容詞，表示“炒的”，deep fry 則是表達：油炸

例：

I had stir-fried beef.

我吃了炒牛肉。

④boil 煮

例：

I'd peel potatoes and put them on to boil.

我要削掉土豆皮然後把它們煮熟。

⑤bake (在烤爐裡) 烘烤; 烘培

roast （用烤箱）烤

grill 在烤架上烤

例:

The beef was roasting in the oven.

牛肉在烤箱裡烤着。

⑥simmer （用文火）炖

例：

Turn the heat down so the sauce simmers gently.

将爐火調小，用文火炖調味汁。

⑦steam 蒸

例：

Steam the carrots until they are just beginning to be tender.

将胡蘿蔔蒸至剛好變軟。
