一、 aid 及物動詞、名詞。意思是“幫助、援助”。是比較正式的用語。例如：

She had previously aided him with money and legal advice. 他先前在經濟上幫助過他并給了合法建議。

He has aided me in my work. 他已經幫助我工作了。

An aged man was advancing slowly, with the aid of a cane. 一個年邁的人慢慢變老，要手杖幫助行走了。

二、assist 及物動詞。意思是“幫助”。常帶有協助的含義。例如：

The nurse assisted the doctor in the operating room. 護士在手術室幫助醫生工作。
