award，大家知道，其最基本的含義是“給某人獎勵”或者“授予某種獎賞（金錢、學位等）”，如：

但是，在法律英語中，它具普通詞形态而無普通詞意義，通常可見的含義有2層：
Ø 仲裁裁決；
Ø 損失賠償金等的裁定額。

The award of the arbitration tribunal shall be final and binding on the parties and such award shall apportion the costs of the arbitration.
仲裁庭做出的裁決應具有最終性，對各方有約束力。仲裁裁決應規定仲裁成本的承擔。

He was awarded RMB 5000 damages for the injury he suffered in the accident.
他因事故中所受的傷害而（經法院裁定）獲得5000元人民币的賠償金。
