動詞 use 需要掌握哪些知識呢？重點是掌握它的兩個奇葩短語，四個常規短語（含被動變化）；use的這兩個奇葩短語還更重要些！

uses（三單）- using（現在分詞）- used（過去式）- used（過去分詞）

我們先來看看use的正常用法與其四個常規短語：

一、use 作動詞，譯為 “用，使用，運用”；後接名詞，使用...

May I use your computer?

我能用一下你的電腦嗎？

use 表示“用，使用”，構成短語多用于被動語态：

1、use...to do 用...做...

sth. be used to do 某物被用來做...

I use the bag to carry my books.

我用包來裝書。

The bag is used to carry my books.

包用來裝我的書。

2、be used for doing 被用來做...

與 be used to do sth. 相近，不要求區分；

Pens are used for writing.

筆是用來寫字的。

3、use...as... 把...當作...使用

be used as sth. ...被當作...使用

as 本身具有"作為"的意思；

Phones can be used as cameras.

手機可以被當作相機使用。

有同學說：“老師，還有be used by 呢？”

be used by 不能算作是短語，by 其實就是被動語态的标志，by 表示“被”；

例如：All of the apples were eaten by him.

所有的蘋果都被他吃了。

The water was used （by me） to water the flowers.

水都被（我）用來澆花了。

4、use up 用完，用光，耗盡

類似 eat up 吃完，吃光

He used up all his money.

他用光了所有的錢。

I used up the ink and finally finished my homework.

我用光了墨水，最後終于完成了作業。

以上是use的四個常規短語，很容易理解；接下來我們講解它的兩個奇葩短語，與use的本身含義毫無關系，但非常重要，中考英語常客之一；

1、used to do 過去，曾經（經常）做...；（現在不做）

I used to swim in the river with my father.

我過去常常和爸爸一起在這條河裡遊泳；

She used to live in the countryside.

他以前住在鄉下。（現在沒有了）

Did she use to be afraid of the dark.

他以前怕黑嗎？

used to 的否定形式有兩種：

used not to 與 didn't use to

He used not to be shy.

他過去不害羞的。

He didn't use to tell lies.

他以前不撒謊的。

2、be used to sth/doing 習慣于/适應于...表示狀态，如果要表示動作也可以将be動詞換為get/become

Ivy is used to getting up early.

Ivy習慣了早起。

I become used to reading every day.

我習慣了每天閱讀；

關于以上這兩個短語，初中有一道經典句子，常作為考題：

My grandpa used to live in the countryside, but he is used to living in the city now!

我爺爺以前生活在農村，他現在适應了城裡的生活。

二、use 也可作名詞，譯為“使用”

常見短語與句型：

make use of... 使用...

make full use of... 充分使用...

put sth. to good use 好好利用...

It is no use doing sth. 做...沒有用
