1. 日期的寫法（書面語）和讀法（口語）稍有不同。

如“十月一日”可以寫成 October 1, October 1st, 1 October, 1st October, (the) 1st of October 等，表示月份的詞也可用縮略式，如 Oct. 1, 1 Oct.

但是在口語中通常隻有兩種讀法 October (the) first 或 the first of October。

2. 當日期與星期排列時，通常是星期在前，日期在後。

如：He arrived on Friday, May 10. 他于5月10日(星期五)到達。

3. 月份：

1月 January 2月 February

3月 March 4月 April 5月 May

6月 June 7月 July 8月 August

9月 September 10月 October

11月 November 12月 December

4. 星期：

周一 Monday 周二 Tuesday

周三 Wednesday 周四 Thursday

周五 Friday 周六 Saturday

英語中時間的表達方法主要有直接法和借用介詞法等。

（1）直接法

上午八點：eight AM （a.m.）　　

下午九點：nine PM （p.m.）

六點六分：six six

六點三十二分：six thirty two　

八點正：eight o'clock

（2）借用介詞法

八點四十五分：a quarter to nine　　

七點零五分：five past seven

七點五十四分：six to eight　

六點半：half past six

（3）表示正點的用法

十一點正：

at 11 o'clock sharp；

at 11 o'clock on the hour；　

at 11 o'clock on the strike；

正午12點：at noon

午夜12點：at midnight

（4）其它

12點22分：

twelve twenty-two；

twenty-two past twelve（英式說法）；

twenty-two after twelve（美式說法）；

1點15分：

one fifteen；

a quarter past one（英式說法）；

a quarter after one（美英說法）；

8點50分：

eight fifty；

ten to nine（英式說法）；

ten before nine（美式說法）；

1點40分：

one forty；

twenty to two（英式說法）；

twenty before two（美式說法）；

“提前半小時”：

half an hour early；

thirty minutes early；

early by half an hour；

half an hour ahead of time；

half an hour ahead of schedule；

（1）英國貨币：

penny（便士）/pence （penny的複數）/pound （￡）

￡20.50：

twenty pounds fifty pence；

twenty fifty；

（2）美國貨币：

1 dollar= 100 cents（1美元）

（$ 1.00=one dollar）

（$ 2.00=two dollars）

25美分：1 quarter　10美分：1 dime

5美元：1 nickel　 　1美分：1 penny

$ 15.95：

fifteen dollars ninety-five cents；

fifteen ninety-five；

（3）其它表達

表示正常價格：regular price，normal price.

表示價格劃算：a good buy，a better buy，an excellent price，a good price/ bargain.

表示價格較貴：dear，expensive，more expensive，steep.

表示價格便宜：cheap，inexpensive，bargain price，less expensive.

表示減價出售：sale price，on sale，garage sale，Christmas sale，special price.

詞組：discount，half，double，cut off，knock off，twice as much as ， cross off.
