such…that作“如此…以至于”解，連接一個表示結果的狀語從句。與so…that

意思相同，但用法不同。如：so…that這一結構中，so後邊可加形容詞或副詞，

而such後邊要用名詞（這個名詞前面可以帶形容詞，也可以不帶）。

一．such…that的句型結構可分以下三種：

1) such＋a(an)＋adj.＋單數可數名詞＋that…

He is such a good man that everybody likes him.

他是如此好的一個人，每個人都非常喜歡他。

He was such an honest boy that he was praised by his teacher.

他非常誠實，因而受到了老師的表揚。

2) such＋adj.＋複數可數名詞＋that…

They are such interesting novels that I want to read them once again.

這些小說非常有趣，我想再讀一遍。

3)such＋adj.＋不可數名詞＋that…

He has made such great progress that the teachers are pleased with him.

他進步得很快，老師們對他感到很滿意。

二．so…that用法如下：

1) so＋adj.／adv.＋that…（so的後面跟形容詞或副詞）

He runs so fast that nobody can catch up with him.

他跑得非常快，沒人能追上他。

2) so＋adj.＋a(an)＋單數可數名詞＋that…

Dr. King is so nice a doctor that everybody loves and respects him. =He is such a nice doctor that everybody loves and respects him.

金醫生是一位非常好的醫生，大家都尊敬并愛戴他。

注意：如果名詞前由many、much、few、little等詞所修飾的話，則不用

such而用so，即：

3) so many(few) 名詞複數 that...

so much(little) 不可數名詞 that...
