Then Charlie looked on the bookshelf.

Grandpa laughed to himself.

"You're getting hot now," he said.

Stickybeak flew around squawking, "Hot, hot, hot."

Charlie opened the top of the piano, and he looked inside.

Stickybeak looked inside too, "No good, no good," he squawked.

"Now you're hotter," said Grandpa.

The next place that Charlie tried was Grandpa's coat pocket.

"You're very hot now," said Grandpa.

Stickybeak flew around and squawked, "Hot, hot, hot."

Charlie looked behind the goldfish bowl, but the treasure wasn't there.

"You're getting very, very hot!" said Grandpa.

The last place Charlie looked was on top of Stickybeak's cage.

"Good, good, good," squawked Stickybeak, and he flapped his wings.

"This is the hottest place of all," said Grandpa.

"I'm very hot now!" shouted Charlie.

"Yay! I've found the treasure! It's a bag of marbles," said Charlie.

"Thanks, Grandpa. Thanks, Stickybeak. Now let's see who can win a game of marbles."

在昨天分享的上篇中，出現了這些表示順序的詞和短語：the first, the second, the third, next；今天則出現了：then, the next, the last。

這些表示順序的詞叫做Sequence Words，序詞。正是這些詞在文中起到連接的作用，所以它們也被稱為Transition Words，過渡詞。
