☘ flower & blossom & bloom

➀名詞，都是“花”的意思；in flower，意思是“開花”

Flower是指一般的花，草花或灌木及小的果樹的花

The grass is in flower.

草在開花。

Blossom是指果樹之“花”，如桃、梨、蘋果等樹之花

Peach trees are in full blossom.

桃花開得正旺。

Bloom則指不結果實，供觀賞的“花”

The roses are in bloom.

玫瑰盛開。

➁都可做不及物動詞，表示“開花”

The tree is flowering.

這樹正開着花。

The cherry-tree will blossom next month.

櫻桃樹下月開花。

The tulips are blooming now.

現在郁金香正盛開着。

☘ 花的俚語
