一、表示日期

當數詞表示日期的時候，有以下幾種情況：

當隻表示年的時候，我們按照數字的順序讀出來，先讀前一位數或者兩位數，再讀後兩位。

例詞：2005年 two thousand and five 1990 nineteen ninety

表示日期（幾月幾号）的時候，通常幾号是用序數詞表示

例詞：10月1日 October 1st 讀作October (the) first

表示“年,月,日”時，”年“用基數詞，”日“通常按序數詞讀出

例詞：1949年10月1日

October 1，1949 讀作October（the）first nineteen forty-nine

二、表示時刻

如果是整點的話，直接用整點數 o'clock,(o’clock可以省略)

2:00 two o’clock或two

不是整點的話，第一種方法，可以按照鐘表上的數字讀出來。

10：45 ten forty-five 3:27 three twenty-seven

第二種方法，把鐘表上顯示的時間以半小時為界。

前半小時，就是30分鐘以内，用“分鐘 past 鐘點：”，表示幾點過幾分

5:18 eighteen past five 10:20 twenty past ten

後半小時，就是超過三十分，可以用“60分鐘-原分鐘數 to 原小時數 1”，表示幾點差幾分。

10:55 five to eleven 5:35 twenty-five to six

特别要注意的是，有一些時間點，會用到特殊的表示方法。

半小時用half，一刻鐘（15分）用a quarter

9:30 half past nine

24:00 twenty-four hundred hours=midnight

三、表示年代

當表示”某個世紀的幾十年代時，用“the 基數詞的複數”。

如： 20世紀90年代 the nineties(90’s ,90s)of the 20th century

讀作 the nineties of the twentieth century

注意：不要漏掉the。

四、表示年齡

1. 表示“幾歲，幾歲這樣的具體年齡”，用“基數詞＋years old”或“基數詞＋of age”或者“at the age of＋基數詞”，也可直接用基數詞。

如： seventeen years old= seventeen years of age 17歲

He go to the college at fifty-five. (他55歲上大學。)

=He go to the college at the age of fifty-five.

2. 表示“幾十多歲等不太确切，有點模糊”的年齡，用“in one’s 逢十的基數詞的複數(如tens, twenties, thirties等)”來表達。

如：in her thirties 在她三十多歲時

He went to the United States in his fifties. 他五十多歲時去了美國。
