“Across”，“over”，“through”，都是“橫過、穿過”的意思。

從中文意思來說，這三詞彙并沒有太大差别，但是在英文意思中，這三詞彙卻有非常明顯的區分。

今天王老師就一起帶大家來區分一下英語中“橫過”與“橫過”之間的差别吧

我們用across作介詞(prep)和副詞(adv)。

1. Across意為在某物的另一邊，或從某物的一邊到另一邊

Across通常用來描述有邊界和界限的事物，如城市、道路或河流:

We took a boat across the river. [介詞]

Across the room, she could see some old friends. She got up and went to join them.[介詞]

The road was so busy that we found it difficult to get across. [副詞]

2. 我們也用across描述某物從一邊伸展到另外一邊

The beautiful old bridge across the river Arno in Florence.

She divided the page by drawing a red line across it. Then she cut it in two.

3. 我們使用across來強調某事在很多地方同時發生

She’s opened coffee shops across the city and they’re very successful.

Across the country, people are coming out to vote for a new president.

Over同樣用作介詞(prep)和副詞(adv)。

1. Over用來描述一些處在較高位置的事物，有時也用來描述事物從一邊移動到了另一邊

From the castle tower, you can see over the whole city. [介詞]

We toasted marshmallows over the fire. [介詞]

Suddenly a plane flew over and dropped hundreds of leaflets. [副詞]

2. Over作副詞使用時，用法和across比較相似

We walked over to the shop. = We walked across to the shop(the shop is on the other side of the road)

I was going across to say hello when I realised that I couldn’t remember his name. = I was going over to say …

1. through描述的則是在事物内部（in）移動

Across有表示從某物的一邊移到另一邊的意思，Through也有同樣的表達，但是，across描述的是從事物的邊界移動到另一個邊界，而through描述的則是在事物内部（in）移動：

I love walking through the forest. (強調了“我”是在森林裡面漫步)

When my dog runs through long grass, it’s difficult to find him. (強調了小狗是在草地裡奔跑)

2. 當表示從開始到結束的一段時間時

美式英語通常使用through，而英式英語通常使用from…to/till :

The office is open Monday through Friday. (英式英語: from Monday to Friday)
