臘八用英文怎麼說？

“臘八”一般可以直接用拼音“laba”來表示，後面進一步說明這一天是農曆十二月初八（the eighth day of the 12th lunar month）即可。

因為臘八節有喝臘八粥（Laba rice porridge）的傳統，所以也可以簡單介紹說這天又稱the Laba Rice Porridge Festival。

祭祀、喝臘八粥、腌臘八蒜是臘八的三大習俗。

祭祀

一歲之末為“臘”。在我國上古時期，人們把冬季祭祀神靈、祖先稱為“大臘”，舉行冬祀日子被稱為“臘日”。

慢慢的每年農曆臘月初八作為“臘日”逐漸被确定下來，成為祈求豐收和吉祥的傳統節日。

在臘八當天，一定要喝一碗熱乎乎的臘八粥（Laba porridge），讨個好彩頭。

我國喝臘八粥的曆史，已有一千多年。各地臘八粥的花樣，一定會讓你看花了眼。

最為講究的會在白米中摻入紅棗、蓮子、核桃、栗子、杏仁、松仁、桂圓、榛子、葡萄、白果、菱角、青絲、玫瑰、紅豆、花生等不下二十種食物。

The main ingredients of the Laba porridge are rice and sticky rice; people also add sugar, red dates, lotus seeds, walnuts, chestnuts, almonds, longans, hazelnuts, raisins, red beans, peanuts, water caltrops, roseleaf and other various materials to make the porridge special.

人們在臘月初七的晚上，就開始忙碌起來，洗米、泡果、剝皮、去核、精揀然後在半夜時分開始炖煮，一直炖到第二天清晨，臘八粥才算熬好了。

腌臘八蒜

中國華北大部分地區在臘月初八這天有用醋泡蒜的習俗，叫“臘八蒜”（Laba garlic）。

臘八這一天，将剝好的蒜瓣放入幹淨的壇中，再倒入老醋，密封後腌制數天。制好的臘八蒜通體晶瑩碧綠，口感酸辣，别具一番風味。
