無論是Collins還是Webster上，都沒有找到這個短語，問了一下身邊的老外，大多數沒聽過更沒用過。實際上，這是一個伊麗莎白時代的英語表達，大概在十六或十七世紀曾被使用過，有字典将這個詞組标注為“過時的”（obsolete），現代英語中早已不再使用。現在很多中學都在教授這個短語，真的很奇怪……

Collins: If you say that something is out of the question, you are emphasizing that it is completely impossible or unacceptable.

2. For the homeless, private medical care is simply out of the question.
但是帶着對“out of question”的後怕，我還是問了問老外，得到的回答是肯定的，這個詞組現在還在使用中。我總結了一下表示拒絕的幾個詞：
