Apparel不僅可以是名詞也可以是動詞

家居服 home wear；lounge wear；loungewear；family uniform；dressing gown；housecoat；house dress

lounge 有休息廳、候機廳的意思。一詞很可能源自 Longinus 。據傳， Longinus 乃古羅馬軍團一個百人隊隊長( centurion )。在中世紀神秘劇( mystery play )中 Longinus ，也作 Longis ，常被描繪成一個個子高大、舉止粗魯的懶漢，愛把身子斜靠在長矛上，一副無精打采的樣子，故而一直有人據此推斷，意為"懶洋洋地倚靠（或躺、坐、站）"或"懶洋洋的姿勢（或步子）"的 lounge 一詞可能即源于此。但有些具有權威性的辭書卻提出另一種解釋，認為 lounge 是16世紀源自法語 Longis ' drowsy laggard '（懶散的人），而 longis 則可能源出 Longinus 的大名。到了18世紀 lounge 開始被用作名詞，意指"休息室"，顯然此義是從前面的詞義引申出來的。
