數詞的分類

數詞分為基數詞和序數詞。基數詞是表示數目多少的詞，序數詞是表示順序先後的詞。比如：“一、二、三”就是基數詞，“第一、第二、第三”就是序數詞。

為了便于記憶，把基數詞分成以下幾類。

• 一百以内的基數詞

1. 1-12的基數詞是one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve。

2. 13-19的基數詞是thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, nineteen。觀察它們的拼寫，思考它們和3-9有什麼拼寫關系？

3. “整十”是twenty（二十）, thirty（三十）, forty（四十）, fifty（五十）, sixty（六十）, seventy（七十）, eighty（八十）, ninety（九十）。觀察它們的拼寫，思考它們和2-9有什麼拼寫關系？

4. “幾十幾”是“十位數 個位數”，中間用連字符“-”連接。比如：21是twenty-one，35是thirty-five。

• 一百以上的基數詞

英語中的數字是三位一個單位，所以它隻有計數單位是“百、千、百萬、十億、萬億”，對應的英語單詞是“hundred, thousand, million, billion, trillion”，缺少的漢語計數單位是“萬、十萬、千萬、億、百億”，在英語中分别這樣表示：ten thousand，one hundred thousand，ten million，one hundred million，ten billion。

讀英語中三位以上的數字，讀的時候是從高位到低位依次去讀，先讀每個單位内的數字，然後在末尾加上對應的英語計數單位。

英語三位數的讀法是“百位數 hundred and 幾十幾”，比如：688讀作six hundred and eighty-eight。如果百位數中沒有十位數，就在and後面直接讀個位數，比如：608讀作six hundred and eight。

再比如6688666在英語裡寫作6,688,666，讀作six million, six hundred and eighty-eight thousand, six hundred and sixty-six.

為了方便記憶，這裡也把序數詞分為幾類，根據序數詞在實際應用中的頻率，這裡隻講千位數以内的序數詞。

1. 1-3的序數詞是first, second, third。

2. 4-19的序數詞是fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh, twelfth, thirteenth, fourteenth, fifteenth, sixteenth, seventeenth, eighteenth, nineteenth。觀察它們的拼寫，看它們與對應的基數詞在拼寫上有什麼關系？

3. 整十的序數詞是twentieth, thirtieth, fortieth, fiftieth, sixtieth, seventieth, eightieth, ninetieth。觀察它們的拼寫，看它們與對應的基數詞在拼寫上有什麼關系？

4. 整百的序數詞是（one/a）hundredth, two hundredth, three hundredth, four hundredth, five hundredth, six hundredth, seven hundredth, eight hundredth, nine hundredth。

5. 幾百零幾的序數詞是把個位數變成序數詞，百位數和個位數間用and連接，比如：第306是three hundred and sixth。

6. 幾十幾和幾百幾十幾的序數詞是把對應的基數詞裡的個位數變成序數詞，十位數與個位數中間用連字符連接。比如：第21是twenty-first，第166是one hundred and sixty-sixth。

最後還要注意，序數詞有縮寫形式。first→1st，second→2nd，third→3rd，sixth→6th，sixty-first→61th，sixty-second→62nd，sixty-third→63rd，eighty-sixth→86th。
