厭 讀
賴 和
二十年來原故我，惟将靜坐送年華。
晴窗二月春風暖，默坐終天竹榻斜。
暫得心閑即覓句，非關懶讀每思家。
欲開舊卷頭生痛，步出庭前摘草花。

賴和（1894-1943），字懶雲，台灣彰化人。被譽為台灣新文學之父。有《賴和詩文集》。LAI He
(1894-1943), styled Clouds-as-Weather-Teller, a native of Zhanghua County, Taiwan. He was honored as the Father of New Literature in Taiwan. Lai authored A Poetry Anthology of Lai He. (劉秀蓮譯)

For twenty years, I remain what I am,
While sitting still my prime I while away.
The sunlit window greets an April breeze;
The creaky bamboo couch rests me all day.
At leisure now, I search for a verse line,
Not something about nostalgia at all.
Pained I feel as I would ope an old book;
To pick a flower I walk out of the hall.
