A、日期表達法

1、日期的表示法英語和美國稍有不同，英國通常表示為“日—月—年”，美國通常表示為“月—日—年”。如“10月10日”可表示為 October 10, 1985(美)或10(th) October, 1985(英)。

注意：最好避免把整個日期都寫成數字, 這在英美語中表示的含義并不相同：如“2. 7. 97”、“2-7-97”、“2/7/97”這類表達，在美國英語中表示“1997年2月7日”，而在英國英語中則表示“1997年7月2日”。

2、英語中“年”的讀法：四位數以下的年份，按基 的讀法讀，如“(公元)689年”直接讀成 six hundred and eighty-nine；也可以讀為：six eighty-nine; 757 A.D讀成seven fifty-seven A.D ；

滿四位數年份，一般是兩位兩位地讀，即讀作“幾十幾，幾十幾”，如“1986年”通常讀作 nineteen eighty-six; 1982年讀作nineteen eighty-two。

3、注意：若是整數百的年份，通常讀作“the year—幾十幾—hundred。如“1900年”讀作 the year nineteen hundred；若是整數千的年份，通常讀作“the year —幾千”，如“2000年”讀作two thousand或 the year two thousand。像1800 可讀成eighteen 00或eighteen hundred；2000 可讀成two thousand或the year two thousand； 2001年則讀成two thousand and one，類似地，“2005年”可讀作 two thousand and five;2019可讀為：two thousand and nineteen 。

January 12th, 1993讀成January the twelfth, nineteen ninety-three。

January 26th,2019 讀成January the twenty-sixth, two thousand and nineteen

B、鐘點表達法

一 最直接的讀法：“小時 分鐘”：

9:10 nine ten

10:30 ten thirty

6:40 six forty

二 巧用介詞法：

（1）所表述的時間在30分鐘之内，用“分鐘 past/after 小時”：

9:10 ten past nine（英式） / ten after nine(美式)

10:20 twenty past ten / twenty after ten

6:25 twenty-five past six / twenty-five after six

（2）所表述的時間在30分鐘之後，用“（相差的）分鐘 to/before （下一）小時”：

10:35 twenty-five to eleven（英式 ） / twenty-five before eleven（美式）

9:50 ten to ten / ten before ten

9:49 eleven to ten / eleven before ten

（3） 所表述的時間恰好為半小時，用“half past 小時”：

11:30 half past eleven

2:30 half past two

（4） 所表述的分鐘和15有關，有三種表達法：

（15分鐘又叫一刻鐘：a quarter）

8:15 - eight fifteen ; fifteen past eight ; a quarter past eight（英式）/

a quarter after eight(美式)

2:45 - two forty-five ; fifteen to three ; a quarter to three/a quarter before three

(5)整點

現在是十點整。

It's ten.

It's ten o'clock.

It's ten o'clock sharp.

It's ten o'clock on the dot.

It's ten o'clock on the nose.

It's exactly ten o'clock.

三 另外，還有這種情況：

Noon：表示白天的12點 ， midnight：表示夜晚的12點

at noon正午12點，at midnight午夜12點

It's (twelve) noon. 現在是中午十二點。

It's (twelve) midnight. 現在是半夜零點。

四 大約時間：

It's almost two. 馬上到兩點了。

It's not quite two. 還不到兩點。

It's just after two. 剛過兩點。

五 若想表明是上午，可在時間後加上a.m.

如：thirteen past six a.m.（上午六點十三分）。

若想表明是下午，可在時間後加上p.m.，

如：four o'clock p.m.（下午四點）。

六 提前半小時

half an hour early / thirty minutes early / early by half an hour / half an hour ahead of time /half an hour ahead of schedule.
