be動詞過去時的句型如下：
肯定句：主語 be動詞的過去式（was，were） 其他.
否定句：主語 be動詞的過去式（was，were） not 其他.
疑問句：be 動詞的過去式（Was，Were） 主語 其他？
He was busy yesterday.（肯定句）
他昨天很忙。
He was not busy yesterday.（否定句）
他昨天不忙。
Was he busy yesterday？（疑問句）
他昨天忙嗎？

1) be 動詞過去時的肯定句

Mike was in the United States last year.
邁克去年在美國。

主語 時态現在時過去時I （第一人稱單數）amwasHe,She,It（第三人稱單數）isYou（第三人稱單、複數）arewere

I was very tired last night.
我昨天晚上很累。
You were absent from school two days ago.
兩天前你沒到校（缺席）。
There were some books there.
那兒曾經有一些書。
注意
There is（are）的句型用于一般過去時需把is，are變為它們的過去式：There was （were）….

2) be動詞過去時的否定句

He was not in Canada last year.
他去年不在加拿大。
be動詞過去時的否定句的結構和現在時一樣，隻要在be動詞過去式（was，were）後面加上not就可以了。否定式的was not，were not大多使用縮寫形式wasn't）和weren't
I wasn't busy the other day.
前幾天我不忙。
There weren't any boys in the room.
教室裡一個男孩兒也沒有。
3 be動詞過去時的疑問句（一般疑問句和特殊疑問句）
Was it raining in Beijing yesterday？
No，it wasn' t. It was cloudy.
昨天北京下雨了嗎？不，沒下雨。昨天北京陰天。
Where were you yesterday morning？I was at school.
你昨天上午去哪兒了？我在學校。
be動詞過去時一般疑問句的結構和一般現在時一樣，隻要把be動詞的過去式was，were調到主語前面即可。Was（Were） 主語～？回答時，需用yes，was（were)。或No，…wasn't（weren't）。
注意
以疑問詞開始的特殊疑問句，回答時，不能用Yes，No直接回答所問的問題即可。
Was your father free this morning？
今天上午你爸爸有空嗎？
Yes，he was.是的，他有空。
No， he wasn't.不，他沒空。
Was there any water in the bottle？
瓶子裡有過水嗎？
Yes，there was.是的，曾經有過。
No，there wasn't 不，沒有過。
