不定冠詞a and an
" a " and " an " 用在不确定的單數名詞前, 用來指一個群體中的任何一個。
For example:
"My daughter really wants a dog for Christmas."
"Somebody call a policeman!"
"When I was at the zoo, I saw an elephant!"
I am a teacher.
Brian is an Irishman.
Seiko is a practicing Buddhist.
用a還是an取決于它們後面的詞的首音節是元音還是輔音（切記不是字母）：
a 輔音開頭的名詞: a boy; a car; a bike; a zoo; a dog
an 元音開頭的名詞: an elephant; an egg; an apple; an idiot; an orphan

a nouns starting with a pronounced "h": a horse
如果名詞前有形容詞修飾，用a還是an由形容詞的首音節決定，規則同上:
