關于四位數年份的讀法有下列4種情形：
1）一般情況下，将以00-00格式念，例如：
1865年讀作 Eighteen Sixty-five
1998年讀作 Nineteen Ninety-eight
2）後兩位數分别為“零”，則将後面的兩個“零”讀為 hundred。例如：
1900年讀作 Nineteen hundred
1800年讀作 Eighteen hundred
3）第三個數字為“零”的年份的讀法應當将該“零”讀為o[類似‘歐’的發音]。例如：
1809年讀作 Eighteen o Nine
4）關于兩千年的一些讀法
2000年讀作 two thousand
2008年讀作 two thousand and eight（或twenty o eight）
1008年讀作 one thousand and eight（或ten o eight）
英語中年、月、日的表達方法是“月份 序數詞，年”（美式）
例如:
2001年4月2日應該寫成：April 2nd, 2001，讀成：April second, two thousand and one。
October 31（October 31st）讀作October thirty-first 。（不是thirty one）
August 26（August 26th）讀作August twenty-sixth。
日期的表達英式和美式有所不同在日期的寫法上，英式先寫日子，美式先寫月份。
英1999年4月6日=6th April 1999
美1999年4月6日=April 6th 1999
在讀法上，英國人有兩種表達方式：
1．April the sixth，nineteen ninety-nine
2．The sixth of April，nineteen ninety-nine
美國人則一般這樣表示：
April sixth，nineteen ninety-nine(省略“the")
