☆fate 命運

· Fate is a power that some people believe controls and decides everything that happens, in a way that cannot be prevented or changed. You can also refer to the fates.

有些人認為命運（fate）是一種力量，它控制和決定一切發生的事情，無法阻止或改變。你也可以指命運（fates）。

I see no use arguing with fate.

· A person's or thing's fate is what happens to them.

☆destiny命運

· A person's destiny is everything that happens to them during their life, including what will happen in the future, especially when it is considered to be controlled by someone or something else.

一個人的命運（destiny）是他一生中所發生的一切，包括未來将要發生的事情，特别是當它被認為是由某人或某事所控制的時候。

例：

We are masters of our own destiny.

我們是自己命運的主人。

Destiny is the force which some people believe controls the things that happen to you in your life.

Fate and destiny are almost synonyms, so both will almost always work in the same places.However, here are some Merriam-Webster definitions of each:

Destiny

On the other hand, someone's fate is usually different from someone's destiny. One's fate means either their demise (as in to meet with your fate) or the condition they end up in (usually after the fact). One's destiny is what they are supposed to do according to destiny/fate, as in "It was his destiny to be king." This usually has a positive meaning.
