　　Column Multiplication 乘法豎式

　　32 x 18 =

　　We start by stacking the numbers.

　　咱們先把數摞着放。

　　It is easier to put the smaller number on the bottom.

　　把小的數放底下更好算。

　　Make sure to line up the ones and tens.

　　個位、十位要對齊。

　　These are our factors,

　　這些叫乘數，

　　and our answer is the product.

　　結果叫乘積。

　　Put a little x for times to the left of the bottom number.

　　在底下的數左邊寫一個x，表示“乘”。

　　First, we multiply the top ones number by the ones column of the bottom number,

　　首先，我們用上面那個數的個位乘以底下那個數的個位。

　　2 x 8 = 16,

　　so we put 6 under the line,

　　所以我們把6寫在線下面，

　　and write a little 1 to the right of this 1.

　　然後在1的右邊寫一個小1。

　　Next, 3 x 8 = 24,

　　and plus the 1 thats carried over, equals 25.

　　然後加上進上來的1，等于25。

　　Write 2 in the hundreds place and 5 in the tens place.

　　Then, well multiply the top number by the tens of the bottom number,

　　so put 2 in the tens place under the first product.

　　The answer is 576.
