Early one morning the wind blew a spider across the field. A thin, silky thread trailed from her body. The spider landed on a fence post near a farm yard…and began to spin a web with her silky thread.

有一天早晨，一陣風把一隻蜘蛛吹過了田野。一根細細的絲線從她的身體裡拖了出來。蜘蛛着陸在一座農莊旁的栅欄樁上…接着她開始用她的絲線結起了網。

“Neigh! Neigh!” said the horse. “Want to go for a ride?”

The spider didn’t answer. She was very busy spinning her web.

“㖏！㖏！”一匹馬走來問：“想去兜風嗎？”

蜘蛛正忙着織網，沒有回答。

“Moo! Moo!” said the cow. “Want to eat some grass?”

The spider didn’t answer. She was very busy spinning her web.

“哞！哞！”一頭牛走來問：“想吃草嗎？”

蜘蛛正忙着織網，沒有回答。

“Baa! Baa!” said the sheep. “Want to run in the meadow?”

The spider didn’t answer. She was very busy spinning her web.

“咩！咩！”一隻綿羊走過來問：“想在草場跑步嗎？”

蜘蛛正忙着織網，沒有回答。

“Maa! Maa!” said the goat. “Want to jump on the rocks?”

The spider didn’t answer. She was very busy spinning her web.

“嘛！嘛！”一隻山羊走過來問：“想在岩石上跳高嗎？”

蜘蛛正忙着織網，沒有回答。

“Oink! Oink!” said the pig. “Want to roll in the mud?”

The spider didn’t answer. She was very busy spinning her web.

“哼！哼！”一頭豬走來問：“在你泥塘裡打個滾怎麼樣？”

蜘蛛正忙着織網，沒有回答。

“Woof! Woof!” said the dog. “Want to chase a cat?”

The spider didn’t answer. She was very busy spinning her web.

“汪！汪！”一條狗走來問：“一起去追貓玩好嗎？”

蜘蛛正忙着織網，沒有回答。

“Meow! Meow!” said the cat. “Want to take a nap?”

The spider didn’t answer. She was very busy spinning her web.

“喵！喵！”一隻貓走過來問：“想睡個午覺嗎？”

蜘蛛正忙着織網，沒有回答。

“Quack! Quack!” said the duck. “Want to go for a swim?”

The spider didn’t answer. She had now finished her web.

“嘎！嘎！”一隻鴨子走來問：“想不想去遊泳呢？”

蜘蛛正忙着織網，沒有回答。

“Cock-a-doodle do!” crowed the rooster.“Want to catch a pesky fly?”

And the spider caught the fly in her web…just like that!

“喔喔喔！”一隻公雞來問蜘蛛：“你能捉住那隻可惡的蒼蠅嗎？”

蜘蛛一聲不響地爬過去，啊嗚一口，就這樣逮住了蒼蠅。

“Whoo? Whoo?” asked the owl. “Who built this beautiful web?”

The spider didn’t answer. She had fallen asleep.

“嗚？嗚？”一隻貓頭鷹飛來，奇怪地問：“是誰編織了這麼漂亮的一張網啊？”

蜘蛛沒有回答，她已經睡熟了。

It had been a very, very busy day.

這真是好忙好忙的一天啊!
