何藩，在攝影界有“一代宗師”之名，更被譽為“東方布列松”。 1931 年他出生于上海，後移居香港。何藩的攝影作品多産時代集中于五十年代中至六十年代中期，在此期間他的黑白攝影作品在香港已處于領導地位，而他的攝影手法更在當時蔚為先驅。通過參加比賽赢得近 300 個地區和國際性大獎，亦是多國攝影學會榮譽會員，其中包含英國皇家攝影學會及英國皇家藝術學會。在他擅于運⽤光影的強烈風格中，透過幾何線條勾劃出庶民百态，其鏡頭穿梭于平淡生活之間，一探舊時風貌、昔日煙雨，更添上無限詩意。

何藩十三歲那年收到一份父親送的禮物，一部 Brownie 相機。從此便迷上了攝影這門藝術。十八歲那年何藩便移居到香港，自此他便醉心于這個都市的每一面，由繁華的大街至孤寂的小巷，都通過膠片表現出來。他對光線和瞬間的極緻把握令人歎為觀止。

“其實我偏向喜歡黑白，我不是不拍彩色，但我發現一件事情，彩色沒那麼适合我的世界，黑白給予我一種距離，怎樣的距離呢？跟現實人生的一種距離，我覺得這個距離很重要，現實人生是七彩缤紛，黑白好像抽離了一點，更能夠令觀衆、觀者，有一種思維，一種沉思默想的空間和深度，跟我、大家産生共鳴。我好喜歡黑色，黑色好像一種力量，好偉大、好神秘，好像可以主宰世界的一種力量。我覺得我拍照很随意，意之所至。”
