一、escape的不及物動詞用法：表示“逃脫”、“漏出”

作為不及物動詞，escape可以單獨使用，也可以根據表意的需求與各種介詞連用，“escape from”是最常見的用法，意為“從...逃脫、從...漏出”。

You can’t escape from the reality whatever happens.

不管發生什麼事情，你都無法逃離現實。

Get out from here! The gas is escaping.

趕快離開，煤氣正在洩漏。

He escaped from prison this morning.

他今天早上從監獄裡逃跑了。

As a child he would often escape into a dreamworld of his own.

小時候他常常躲進自己的夢幻世界中。

Officers mistook Stephen for an escaped prisoner.

警官誤以為斯蒂芬是一名逃犯。（過去分詞作定語）

二、escape的及物動詞用法：表示“躲避”、“被遺忘”；避開，避免（不愉快或危險的事物）

作為及物動詞，escape的用法比較簡單，隻需在後面直接加上賓語。值得特别注意的是，雖然escape做及物動詞，但是不可以用于被動語态。這一點從它的詞義上也可以看出來。

When I was a kid, I feared my father and usually escaped him.

我小的時候害怕我父親，還經常躲他。

Her face was so familiar but her name escaped me.

她的面容如此熟悉，但我卻不記得她的名字。

Her name escapes me (= I can't remember it) .

我記不起她的名字了。

It was an actor whose name escapes me for the moment

那個男演員的名字我一時想不起來了。

He narrowly escaped being killed.

他險些喪命。（後接動詞時時doing形式）

There was no escaping the fact that he was overweight.

他身體超重這一事實是無法回避的。

The two officers were extremely lucky to escape serious injury

三、escape的名詞用法：表示“逃走、漏出、逃走的手段、逃避現實（的方法、消遣）”

作為名詞，escape的詞義與它不及物動詞的詞義基本吻合，但可以拓展為一種手段，方式等。在高考範疇内，escape的用法一般不做名詞詞性使用的要求。

The man made his escape.

那個人逃跑了。

But for me television is an escape.

但是對我而言，看電視是一種逃避的方法。

The news of Tandy's escape had shaken them all

坦迪逃跑的消息讓他們所有人都無比震驚。

No matter how tough the training is, we allow no escape.

不管訓練有多艱辛，不允許任何人逃跑。

When I feel tired, I usually listen to soft music as an escape from pressure.

四、作形容詞，使逃避困難的;使規避問題的

We all need the occasional escape route from the boring, routine aspects of our lives...

我們都時不時需要逃避生活中的無聊和平淡。

All escape routes were blocked by armed police

所有逃跑的路都被武警封鎖了。
