英語口語：“玉米”的英語你會說多少？

過年了，在家裡買回幾個玉米煮吃，覺得吃玉米幫助“清肚油”。卻突然想到一個“英語學習問題”：“玉米”的英語你會說多少？

1：“用”中文“學”英語：

1) 對于從初中就開始認真一點“學英語”的同學，我們以為對于英語的“玉米”表達我們還是“知道”一點的：至少corn也叫maize和pop corn我會說啊！

但估計也是“僅此而已”，能多說一些嗎？

2) 對于習慣了用中文學英語（包括理解、記憶存儲、将來“使用”時也是憑借中文回想對應的英語等等環節），我們可能更适應用下面“用中文學英語”的方式“拓展”英語“玉米”的表達：

1. an ear of corn(一穗/一包玉米：一般指還在地裡帶husk(玉米葉)和silk(玉米須)狀态的玉米)：

I pick/buy three ears of corn to cook at home.

我摘/買了三包玉米回家煮吃。

2：“用”英語“學”英語(“用”英語)：

比如，對于上述第一點，我會強迫自己“用”類似下面的英語(每個人說的英語可能有出入)：

1. Well, I know some words about 玉米 in English.We call it corn.We also call it maize.But I think corn is the same as maize(這樣“學”英語，實際上是“用”英語不是更好，更體現英語“學以緻用”嗎？)

又比如，對于第二點，我又這麼“用”英語：

2.What is the difference when we say an ear of corn and a corn in the cob?

Well, I think we can say an ear of corn and a corn on the cob to mean each other：they mean the same thing.

But we may say an ear of corn when we mean an ear of corn that is in the field and still has its husk and silk on it. But when we say corn on the cob,we mean the corn on the cob that has its husk and silk removed from it.

其實，學英語口語，你卻連這樣的“英語口語”都不會說，隻會一句英語一句中文解釋的學習（記憶儲存）單句（甚至一直/永遠停留在此原地踏步），那麼，你理解的“英語口語”和我所說的“英語口語”指的還不是一個意思。
