此處journey之後為前往的地點，故用介詞“to”。而不說Journey of the West

或the West journey。

英語中不少名詞要求固定的介詞與之搭配，形成特有的夥伴關系，journey即是其中之一。

該詞要求其前總是用on進行搭配，表示“進行旅行，在旅行中”。

例如:

They 're on a journey to European countries.他們正在歐洲遊。

journey之後的介詞配置較為繁雜，常見的有:

1)當與具體地點搭配時，journey之後常用to， from或between:

the journey from greenhouse to supermarket shelf

從大棚到超市貨架的行程(to表達“目的地";from表達“來源地”)

the journey between the two towns

兩座城鎮間的行程(between表達“兩地之間”)

2)表達時間、路程(距離)、特點及性質時，常搭配of:

the journey of his life他的一生之旅

some sort of jouney of self-discovery

某種自我探索之旅

a journey of 685 miles on the train

685英裡的火車旅行

a journey of five days

一個五日行程的旅行

3)表達“穿行；貫穿”時，則視情況用through或across:

a dangerous journey through the jungle

一次穿越叢林的危險行程

an epic journey across Africa on foot

徒步橫穿非洲的傳奇旅行

4)當與山脈、河流連用，表示攀爬、水上旅行時，則用down或up:

the journey down the Rhine

萊茵(河)之行(down表示“順流而下；下山")

the tedious journey up the mountain

慢長而無聊的登山行程(up表示“逆流而

上;上山”)
