一、in place of的常見用法

1.in place of表示“代替; 頂替”；例如：

  • A donation box stands in place of a cash register. 捐款箱代替了收銀機。
  • You can use milk in place of cream in this recipe. 這道食譜可以用牛奶代替奶油。

二、in spite of的常見用法

1.in spite of表示“雖然; 盡管”；例如：

  • They went on fighting in spite of all setbacks. 雖然遭受了種種挫折，他們仍繼續戰鬥。
  • In spite of all the problems, several of the players produced excellent performances. 盡管有各種問題，有幾名隊員還是表現得很出色。

三、instead of的常見用法

1.instead of表示“而不是......；代替”；例如：

  • Now I can walk to work instead of going by car. 現在我可以步行去上班，而不必開車了。
