一、little 和few 都可用作形容詞，表示“很少”、“幾乎沒有”，但little用于不可數名詞前，few用于可數名詞前。
I had little money and little free time.（money和time為不可數名詞）
我沒什麼錢，也很少有空閑時間。
She had few friends。（friend 為可數名詞，注意few後一般跟可數名詞複數形式）
她幾乎沒有朋友。
二、a little 表示“一點”，用于不可數名詞前；a few 表示“幾個”用于可數名詞前。
A little food would do us all some good.
三、a little of 也可表示“一點兒”，與“a little”的區别在于，a little of 側重于表示整體中的一點，用于不可數名詞前：
Pour a little of the sauce over the chicken.
往雞肉上倒一點調料。（調料瓶中的一點兒調料）
同理，a few of 則表示“總體中的幾個”，用于可數名詞前：
There are many ways eggs can be prepared; here are a few of them.
烹調雞蛋的方法有很多；這裡是其中的幾個。
