Mr and Mrs Zachary were building a new house.

I want a house with a big lounge. I need a lounge to relax in with my swinging chair, my books, my exercycle, and my drums.

So Mr Zachary drew a plan to show Mrs Zachary.

Description

The house is shaped like a large M. It is made from yellow bricks. Inside, the house has six rooms. The lounge is the biggest room. It has a swinging chair in one corner and in the middle of the room there is a platform for drums. The platform hangs from the ceiling by chains. There is a ladder for getting up and down. The inside walls are green and yellow.

Mrs Zachary looked at Mr Zachary's plan, but she didn't like it.

The lounge is not the most important room in a house. The bathroom is. I want a huge bathroom with a bath the size of a swimming pool. I want a slide and a diving board. I want a soaping machine and a drying cupboard.

So Mrs Zachary drew a plan to show Mr Zachary.

The house is oblong. The outside walls are made of stone. Inside, the house has ten rooms. The bathroom is the biggest room. It has a bath as large as a swimming pool with a slide and a diving board. There is a soaping machine and a drying cupboard.

<The Zacharys' Plans> 紮克瑞家的計劃

Zachary夫婦要建造一棟新房子，兩個人各有想法，于是開始根據自己的想法做計劃，畫房屋結構圖，有外觀圖、内部構造圖，清晰的标注及描述。

不過，看過Zachary先生和Zachary太太各自畫的圖之後，不難發現，他倆的意見好像不太統一。

Zachary先生希望能有一棟擁有6個房間的、M型外觀的黃磚房，其中客廳（lounge）應該是6個房間中最大的，能夠放置書架、電腦桌、搖椅、健身用的腳踏車，客廳上方還有用鐵鍊固定、用梯子鍊接起來的一個平台，用來放置架子鼓。（不得不說，草圖畫得還是很好的。）6個房間分别是：廚房1間、餐廳1間、客廳2間（樓上1間，樓下1間）、浴室1間、卧室1間。

Zachary太太認為浴室才是一棟房子的靈魂，而且要非常大，像遊泳池那麼大，還要有滑梯、跳闆、打泡泡機、風幹機。。。為了将所有這些都裝進新房子裡，Zachary太太設計了一個長方形（oblong）的石頭房，裡面共有10個房間，分别是：餐廳1間、廚房1間、客廳1間、溫泉房1間、卧室2間、浴室2間（大浴室1間，遊泳池帶溫泉、滑梯、跳闆；小浴室1間，為Zachary先生專用）、風幹室1間、打泡泡室1間。

如果你有機會自己建造一棟房子，你會希望自己的房子有幾個房間呢？都是做什麼用的？你可以自己動手畫個圖紙麼？或是先按照現在的家畫一張建構圖練練手，标注一下哪裡是卧室、哪裡是客廳、哪裡是廚房、哪裡是浴室。
