(一)、 數詞數詞hundred, thousand, million 等前面有具體數字時，表示具體數目時，要用單數形式，也不能帶of 。例如：two thousand 兩千(two thousands ✘),(two thousand of ✘),但是在表示“數百”“數少”“數百萬”等不确定數時，本身要用複數形式，而且後要接“of 名詞複數形式”。hundreds of students 數百名學生，hundreds of thousands of trees 成千上萬顆樹，millions of people 數百萬人。

知識縱深：hundred, thousand, million 等詞用法:有s 時有of, 沒有s 沒有of ；數詞前面加，沒有s 沒有of ；前面無數詞，有s 有of 。

(二)、dozen, score 。 dozen 表示一打(十二個)；score 表示“二十個”二者都是表示量的單位。在dozen 和score 前面有具體數字或several 修飾時，也不加—s 。例如：two dozen eggs 兩打雞蛋，three score cows 六十頭牛。

知識縱深(1)、當這些詞與a few, several, many 等數目不很具體的詞連用時，用不用複數形式均可。不用複數形式時，其後的介詞of 可以省略；用複數形式時，其後介詞of 不能省略。例如：several dozen (of )pens /several dozens of pens 幾打鋼筆。(2)、當這些詞後面有the, these, those 等特指限定詞修飾時，或其後接的是us, them 等人稱代詞時，則此時必須用介詞of。three hundred of the doctors 這些醫生中的300人 ；two dozen of these pencils 這些鉛筆中的2打；five dozen of them 它們中的五打。
