《Hairy-Scary Monster》頭發怪

孩子每每要單獨睡了，都會有這樣那樣的奇奇怪怪害怕的東西。我女兒第一次分房睡的時候特别興奮，帶着故事書，帶着平闆電腦，高高興興地回了自己的房間。但是當一說到睡覺的時候，關燈的那一刻就怕得不行了。後來，沒有再強行要求她分房自己睡，偶爾有一兩次能自己睡成功，她也覺得是件了不起的事情。有些事情，我還是希望能自然而然地發生，不去強求。如果跟我在一起睡能夠讓她有足夠的安全感，那再陪兩年又何妨。

Kipper didn't want to go to sleep.

基普不想睡覺。

"Biff and Chip are at Gran's," he said,"I don't like being on my own."

“比弗和奇普去奶奶家了，我不想一個人睡覺。”

"Poor Kipper," thought Floppy. "I'll stay with him."

“可憐的基普。”小叭這樣想着。“我留下來陪陪他吧。”

"Oh no,Floppy," said Mum, "Kipper is going to sleep."

“不行，小叭。你不能留在這裡。”媽媽說：“基普要準備睡覺了。”

But Kipper wasn't going to sleep. He was wide awake.

但是基普壓根就睡不着。他清醒得很。

"I can't go to sleep." he grumbled. "I just can't."

“我睡不着。”他抱怨着“我就是睡不着。”

Kipper laughted. "I know! I'll play a trick." he said. "I'll trick Dad and get him to come upstairs." 基普想到一個好主意。他笑了“我知道了，我要玩惡作劇。我來跟爸爸玩惡作劇，然後讓他上樓來。”

He jumped up and down on his bed.我從床上跳起來并在他的床上上蹿下跳。

“Dad!” he yelled. "There's a hairy-scary monster! It's coming to get me , Dad. Help!"

“爸爸！”他大喊着。“這裡有個頭發妖怪。它要把我給吃了。你快來呀爸爸，救命呀！”

Dad ran up to Kipper's bedroom. Floppy barked and ran after him.

爸爸趕快跑到了基普的卧室。小叭也跟在爸爸的後面汪汪叫個不停。

"What monster? " said Dad. "Where is it?"

“什麼妖怪？在哪兒呢？”

Kipper pointed to the curtains. "It's behind the curtains," he said. "It's got sharp yellow teeth and glowing red eyes."基普指着窗簾說“就在窗簾的後面。它長着一口黃色的大獠牙，眼睛冒着綠光。”

Dad looked behind the curtains, but he didn't see a monster.

爸爸檢查了窗簾後面，但是并沒有發現怪物的蹤影。

"There's no monster here," he said. "Look!"

“這裡沒有怪物，你看！”

"It was a trick," laughd Kipper.

“我隻是開個玩笑而已。”基普得意地笑了。

"It was just a trick!"

“這僅僅是個惡作劇！”

Dad laughed, and tucked Kipper up. "Be a good boy and go to sleep," he said.

爸爸笑了，然後重新給基普蓋好了被子。“好孩子，趕緊睡吧。”

"And no more tricks!"

“不要再玩惡作劇了！”

Floppy was hiding. He didn't like monsters. 小叭藏了起來。他可不喜歡怪物。

"Come out, Floppy," said Dad. "Kipper is going to sleep."

“小叭，快出來吧。基普要睡覺了。”

But Kipper wasn't going to sleep. He was still wide awake.

但是基普還是睡不着覺。他仍然非常地清醒。

"I don't like being on my own," he grumbled. "It's boring."

“我不喜歡一個人睡。”他抱怨着。“太無聊了”

Kipper laughted. "I know! I'll play another trick," he said. "I'll trick Mum and get her to come upstairs." 基普又想出了個主意“我知道了！我再玩一次惡作劇。這一次我把媽媽騙到樓上來陪我玩。”

"Mum!" yelled Kipper. "There's a hairy-scary monster! It's going to eat me up, Mum, help!"

“媽媽。”基普大叫起來。“有一個頭發怪物。他要吃了我，媽媽，快來救救我呀。”

Mum ran up to Kipper's bedroom. Floppy barked and ran after her.

媽媽急忙跑到了基普的卧室。小叭汪汪叫着跟在媽媽的後面。

"What monster?" said Mum. "Where is it?"

“什麼怪物？在哪兒呢？”

Kipper pointed to the wardrobe. "It's in the wardrobe," he said.

基普指了指衣櫃。“就在衣櫃裡面。”

"It's got long sharp claws and hairy jaws."

“它有長長的鋒利的尖爪子和毛茸茸的頭發，”

Mum looked in the wardrobe, but she didn't see a monster.

媽媽打開了衣櫃，但是她沒有看到任何的怪物。

"There's no monster here," she said. "Look!"

“這裡沒有任何的怪物，你看！”

"It was a trick!" laughted Kipper. "It was just a trick."

“我就是開個玩笑。”基普笑道“就是一個小小的惡作劇。”

Mum tucked Kipper up again. "Be a good boy and go to sleep." she said,"And no more tricks!" 媽媽再次讓基普睡下。“乖乖地，做個好孩子，好好睡覺吧。”“不要再玩惡作劇了。”

Kipper began to fall asleep. His eyes were just closing when he heard something under the bed. 基普慢慢地開始入睡。他的眼睛剛剛合上就聽到床底下有什麼聲音。

It was something that was snuffling. It was something that was snorting. It was something that was hairy and very, very scary!

那是一種令人窒息的聲音。是什麼東西在呼噜呼噜的響着。那是一種毛茸茸的東西，非常，非常地可怕。

"Help!" yelled Kipper. "There really is a monster! Mum, Dad, help me ! I'm scared!"

“救命呀！”基普大叫起來。“那裡真的有怪物！爸爸媽媽救我呀！我真的害怕。”

Mum and Dad ran upstairs.爸爸媽媽跑上了樓。

"What's wrong, Kipper?" they said.“ 發生什麼事兒了基普？”他們着急地問道。

"There's a monster," he sobbed.“那裡真的有怪物。”他抽泣着。

"There's a monstr under the bed."“床底下真的有一個怪物。”

Dad looked under the bed. "There is a monster！"he said. "It's the Hairy-Scary Floppy Monstr!" 爸爸人看了床底下。“這裡真的有一個怪物！”“是毛茸茸的，毛發松軟的小叭怪獸。”
