1： beside ,between ,among , behind , in front of ,opposite

beside =(at the side of )表示“在....旁邊”

between 表示 “在....之間”

behind 表示“在......之後”

in front of 表示“在......之前”

opposite 表示“在.......對面”

eg：

Tom was sitting beside Mary .

湯姆坐在瑪麗旁邊。

Mary was sitting between Tom and Bob.

瑪麗坐在湯姆和鮑勃之間。

Bob was sitting behind John and in front of Alice .

鮑勃坐在約翰的後面，艾麗斯的前面。

Tom was sitting opposite Alice .

湯姆和艾麗斯面對面坐着。

注意區别 beside 和 besides . beside 表示“在.....旁邊”，而 besides 表示“除了....以外”相當于 in addition to 。

eg:

Besides me there are many others who disagree with you about this .

除我以外，還有許多其他人和你意見不同。

Besides doing the cleaning i help my husband with his bookwork.

除了打掃以外，我還幫助丈夫做書本研究工作。

2： out/out of , outside /outside of,inside .inside of

out of 既能表示動态，也能表示位置。

eg:

She ran out of the house .

她跑出房子。

I spent long years out of England.

我多年不住在英格蘭了。

out作為介詞隻用于非正式語體，而且隻能表示外向的動作。

eg:

He went out the door .

他走出門。

I threw it out the window .

我把那東西扔出窗外。

outside 一般隻表示位置；outside of 與 outside 同義。

eg:

The ship moored outside /outside of the harbour .

那隻船停在港口外

The cat sleeps outside /outside of the house .

那隻貓經常睡在室外。

inside/inside of 通常也是表示位置。

eg:

He parked his car inside /inside of the gate .

他把車子停在門内。

She was sitting inside /inside of the room .

他正坐在室内。

inside 有時也可表示動态，這時 inside 相當于into 的含義。

eg:

Don't let the dog come inside (=into) the house .
