昨天學習了主要學習了兩點， ①at one time，at a time的區别，以及表達曾經的同樣的用法once。②新介紹了使用破折号的插入語用法，之前也介紹過使用雙逗号的插入語。

昨天文章如下：

at a time與at one time意思截然不同，one，ones，once的區别？

The city was equipped with a drainage system, for a great many clay pipes were found beneath the narrow streets.

The temple which the archaeologists explored was used as a place of worship from the fifteenth century B.C. until Roman times.

城裡甚至還敷設了排水系統，因為在狹窄的街道底下發現了許許多多陶土制作的排水管道。

考古工作者考察的這座廟宇從公元前15世紀直到羅馬時代一直是祭祀祈禱的場所。

（1）be equipped with 配備有或裝備有

equip vt. 裝備，配備 在這裡be equipped表示被裝備了某物，後跟with介詞。比如：

This workshop was equipped with modern machines. 這個車間配備着現代化的機器。

這就是被動句的常用表達形式，當然并不在所有的be done都是被動句，有時候也可能是主系表結構，這個在之前的文章中也介紹過。詳情請看：

再一個就是過去分詞可以做定語，做定語時，就分前置定語和後置定語。比如在前置定語中，可以說：a solved problem 一個已解決的問題。當做後置定語時，可以說 the problem discussed （被）讨論的問題。

定語是用來修飾、限定、說明名詞或代詞的品質與特征的，主要就是形容詞。

在今天的文章中學習到的equipped with也可以用來做定語。

The army equipped with modern weapons has a strong fighting capacity.這支裝備了現代武器的軍隊有很強的戰鬥力。

（2）used as

as a place of worship是用來修飾前面的temple，這整個句子修飾關系的點複雜，我解說一下吧。

The temple(which the archaeologists explored) was used (as a place of worship) (from the fifteenth century B.C. until Roman times).

整個句子斷開就是上面的樣子，最簡句就是The temple was used.這個廟宇被使用着。什麼樣的廟宇呢？那個被考古學家們發現的廟宇。用來做什麼的？用來祭祀祈禱的。什麼時間？從公元前15世紀直到羅馬時代。

這就是這個句子的來龍去脈。有一個簡單句，再加上各種修飾關系就組成了長難句。

This couple treats their adopted child as their own. 這對夫婦對待他們的養子視如己出。

（3）from … until… 從……開始，直到……

from until是表示從某一個時間點開始，到某點結束，隻可以用來表示時間點的開始與結束，不能用于表述地點，表述地點可以用from … to …來表達。

Now I know that I need you here with me from tonight until the end of time. 現在我知道我需要你和我在一起從今晚一直到世界的盡頭。
