昨天學習了主要學習了 ①go用來表示參加某活動時的用法，舉了例子go swimming和go to swim的區别。②without的用法。③as well表示“也”，與also，too等單詞的區别。

昨天文章如下：

去遊泳是go swimming，說成go to swim算錯嗎？

John went to see his bank manager who sent the remains of wallet and the money to the special department of the Bank of England in Newcastle: the Mutilate Ladies! They examined the remain and John got all his money back. 'So long as there's something to identify, we will give people their money back,' said a spokeswoman for the Bank. 'Last year, we paid $1.5m on 21,000 claims.

約翰去找銀行經理，經理把約翰的錢包和紙币的殘留物送到英國銀行在紐卡斯爾的一個專門部門——殘鈔鑒别組。他們鑒定了這些殘留物。約翰拿回了他損失的全部數額。“隻要有東西可供識别，我們會把錢還給人家的，”銀行的一位女發言人說。“去年，我們對21，000 起索賠要求支付了150萬英鎊。”

這個句子有點長，還是按之前講的方法和學會斷句。如果真的不知道怎麼斷句，就看動詞，哪裡有動詞，在哪裡斷開。我們來試一下。

John / went to see his bank manager who / sent the remains of wallet and the money to the special department of the Bank of England in Newcastle: the Mutilate Ladies!

這時可以發現句子被拆分成兩個部分。說明會有一個主句，一個分句。

再看句子前有無主語。

我們發現第一個分句went前是John，是主語，第二個分句前面是who，人稱代詞，指代的是前面的bank manager，使用的是定語從句的用法。

這下基本就清楚兩個句子的邏輯關系了。

但是定語從句好像也有點長。我們再來看看它在講什麼。

… who sent (the remains of wallet and the money) to (the special department of the Bank of England in Newcastle: the Mutilate Ladies)!

這樣劃分後，可以看出一個詞組的搭配，叫sent sth to …，sent是send的過去式和過去分詞。這時句子的邏輯就更清晰了。

其中the remains of wallet and the money，是使用and連詞，連接兩個相同的并列成分。

the special department of the Bank of England in Newcastle: the Mutilate Ladies.

①使用了of來表示從屬關系，A of B of c表示C的B的A。翻譯時，要記得倒着翻譯。

department of the Bank of England

所以這裡翻譯過來就是英格蘭的銀行的部門，放在句子中進行情景化翻譯，就是英國銀行的一個專門部門。

②後面的狀語in Newcastle: the Mutilate Ladies.

則分别用來修飾這個特殊部門的屬性，告訴了我們，這個部門在紐卡斯爾，以及它的名字是殘鈔鑒别組。

這樣句子分析完畢。雖然過程有點長，但是希望能句給大家一個信号，就是懂得拆分句子，每個小句子都有它的邏輯性在裡面，可以看得懂。不像我們中文，太複雜了。比如女朋友打電話給你說，我現在出門了，如果你先到了，你就等着吧。如果我到了你還沒有到，你就等着吧。英語表達不出這麼複雜的含義。所以中文特别強大，能學會中文的你，英文隻能更好學才是。加油。

So long as there's something to identify, we will give people their money back.

so long as 和as long as多數情況下是可以相互替換的。但有兩個情況下有别。

①強調時間很長的時候，一般用as long as

You take as long as you need. 需要多久都可以。

To stay kids for as long as possible. 盡量别長大。

②表示“既然、因為”時，一般使用as long as

As long as you are here, go on. 你既然來了，就幹吧。
