Thunder and Lightning 雷電

1. Thunder 作名詞

There is thunder.

打雷了。

Are you scared of thunder?

你害怕打雷嗎？

Thunder only happens when it's raining.

下雨的時候才打雷。

2. Thunder 作動詞

It's thundering.

正在打雷。

You can cover your ears when it thunders.

打雷的時候可以捂住耳朵。

3. A rumble of thunder 一陣雷聲（口語）

Did you hear that rumble of thunder?

你聽見雷聲了嗎？

4. A peal of thunder, a clap of thunder, a crash of thunder, a roll of thunder 一陣雷聲（書面語）

The peal of thunder warned us of the coming rain.

雷聲警示我們雨就要來了。

5. Boom 轟轟聲

The thunder goes boom.

雷聲轟轟。

這句話是和小寶寶說的。

6. Rumble 隆隆作響

The thunder is rumbling.

雷聲隆隆作響。

肚子咕咕叫也用rumble：

Your stomach is rumbling.

你的肚子咕咕直叫。

Peal, clap, crash, roll也可以作動詞來描述打雷，如：The thunder clapped. 剛才打雷來着。

7. Roar 呼嘯

When thunder roars, go indoors.

打雷時請呆在室内。

The thunder roared.

雷聲呼嘯。

Roar形容打雷一般不用于日常口語中，可用于故事中。

8. Lightning 閃電

請大家注意lightning✔的拼寫，不要漏掉n，變成lighting✘，也不要多加e，變成lightening✘。

There's lightning.

打閃了。

There's thunder and lightning.

雷電交加。

We see lightning before we hear thunder.

我們先看見閃電，後聽見雷聲。

9. A flash of lightning 一道閃電（強調快速和光亮）

A flash of lightning lit up the night sky.

10. A bolt of lightning 一道閃電（強調威力）

一道閃電劃破天空。

The man was struck by a bolt of lightning.

這個人被雷擊了。

11. Flash 閃光

Lightning is flashing in the sky.

閃電劃過長空。

12. Strike 雷擊

Don't stand under a tree in a thunderstorm. You might get struck by lightning.

雷雨天不要站在樹下，你會遭到雷擊的。

中文裡我們說“雷擊”，英文裡說被lightning“閃電”擊中。
