首先，ensure, insure 和 assure 均來自于拉丁文“securus”，意思是“使變得安全或确保”。這也是為什麼大家難以區分這三個單詞，因為他們有着相同通的詞根，且意思非常接近。

Ensure ：确保某件事發生或不發生（to make sure that something will (or won’t) happen or be the case）

1. The airline is taking steps to ensure safety on its aircraft. （航空公司正在采取措施以确保其航班的飛行安全。）
2. The role of the police is to ensure (that) the law is obeyed.（警察的職責就是确保法律得到遵守。）

Ensure 區别于另外兩個單詞的核心點在于：ensure後面隻能接“事件或狀态（events or states of being）”，而不能接實物（things）。例如：ensure a car就是錯誤的用法。

何時使用 Insure

Insure：給...上保險（protect oneself financially by insurance）

1. The house is insured for two million dollars.（該房子投保了200萬英鎊。）
2. You should insure your house against accidental damage.（你應該給房子購買意外損失險。）
3. I'm not insured to drive his car.（我沒有相關的保險，不能開他的車。）

Insure 與ensure的不同之處在于，insure後面隻能接實物（things），而ensure後面接事件（events）。因此，We insure our house, our car, and our business

何時使用 Assure

Assure：（尤指為消除其憂慮而）确定地對…說，向…保證，使确信；讓…放心 （to tell someone confidently that something is true, especially so that they do not worry）

1. The unions assured the new owners of the workers' loyalty to the company.（工會向新企業主保證，工人們對公司是忠誠的。）
2. She assured him (that) the car would be ready the next day.（她向他保證說他的車第二天就能修好。）

因此，We assure people that their concerns are being addressed（我們使用assure向人們保證他們的憂慮會被解決）.
